Description : CMI V is the reincarnation of the first commercially available digital sepler system in the history of music – the sound power station behind the many early megahits of the MTV era. We even went an extra mile and added new creative possibilities that werenβt available in those days.
Thanks to the exotic sounding of digital samples, the promise of a universal digital workstation and physical design right from a science fiction film, Fairlight CMI was the object of desire for most 80 keyboard players who respect themselves. Countless musicians and producers weighed the risks of bank robbery to afford it. Today it is not necessary. Our tool gives you the same thing that many MTV stars used. We even made a lot of improvements and additions that add additional power to this keyboard legend, including an alternative additive synthesis engine and many new modulation capabilities. The collection of vintage keyboards will not be completed without CMI V.
CMI V is not just a digital tool. This is a whole digital workstation. Our advanced emulation of this keyboard superhero allows you to work with 10 digital tools of your choice right away – mixing, layering, smashing and arranging them as you please. Each instrument can be created in one of three different ways to generate sound.
The most obvious is the sampling mechanism, which literally first identified this process in the industry. You can also shape sounds using additive synthesis, where you control each of the component harmonics over time. You also get about 300 professional presets to help you get started, including the original library of sounds that you will recognize in countless hits.
There are a million ways to generate sounds with CMI. Work with a sample from the included library or load your own. Set the start and end points for the sample and loop. Apply several effects. Resynthesize the sample using additive synthesis. Create custom envelopes to control the harmonics in time. Change the sine waves that make up these harmonics into more complex shapes. Add a few custom modules to almost any sound parameters you can only think about. Heck, turn these modified harmonics back into a sample and re-form the sound.
CMI V gives you unlimited creative possibilities and a variety of sound that is completely unique to this legendary sound design workstation. This sound is heard around the world. You know the sound of CMI because it sounded everywhere. Now you can relive the glory of MTV.
