Description :
While de-essers and dynamic equalizers can be very useful, they are rarely sufficient for effectively suppressing sibilance in vocal recordings.
Producers and sound engineers often spend hours manually processing these problematic sounds. While this is often unavoidable, it is time-consuming and distracts from what’s truly important.
Features :
splitS is designed to give you back your time!
splitS is not a de-esser, but a simple mixer that allows you to balance sibilants and instantly separate a vocal track into sibilants and non-sibilants. The signal remains completely unchanged unless the volume is changed, since the separation between sibilants and non-sibilants occurs at the full-range signal.
No compression, no EQ, no crossover.
Starting with version 1.1, the S-Range function can detect the peak level of each S-Range event, allowing you to set a maximum volume or exclude unseen events from the S-Range channel.
The splitS system was developed in close collaboration with Swiss sound engineer Thomas “Mr. T” Gloor.
Key Features :
Advanced sibilance detection using spectral brightness, level, and tonality.
Splits the signal into two full-range components: sibilance and non-sibilance, allowing for precise editing directly on the audio track.
100% signal integrity with no gain changes.
A scrolling waveform display shows signal splitting and level changes in real time.
New feature: S-band lets you set maximum and minimum levels for S-events.
A SoundFlow script package is available in the SoundFlow Store for automating the splitS feature in Pro Tools on macOS.
Supported plug-in formats: AudioUnits/AAX/VST3 for macOS and Windows 64-bit.
Support for multichannel NOS/S signal output in Pro Tools, Reaper, Live, and Bitwig.
Typical latency (varies by parameter): ~30 ms
