This is a recording of the Handwired Reissue Mini B-breaker amplifier—an 18-watt MRSH with EL84 tubes that enjoys an incredible following. There’s even a dedicated forum dedicated to this particular model.
This is a very well-tuned amp—it has a crispness reminiscent of larger Marshall models, enough low-end for real punch, yet never sounds bloated in the bass range, as some larger Plexi- and Bassman-based models can sometimes do without pedals or modifications.
It sits perfectly in a mix and delivers everything from clean to aggressive and everything in between—all with a beautifully British sound. Channel I has more low-end and a more balanced sound, while Channel II produces sharper, brighter tones with less bass.
Recordings were made through the G12M20 integrated speaker of a 1×12 combo amp and a 1968 MRSH 4×12 cabinet with G12M25Hz Pulsonic cones, two Royer R121 microphones, one Beyerdynamic M160, and one Neumann U87.
