We wanted to create a tool that would fit fine, emotional lines for slow/moderate tempo contexts; it’s all housed in a patch without a key switch.
To achieve this, we captured three types of legato, each of which is activated by speed. The main range produces plucked natural legato, the high speed range triggers slides without samples (up to a full step for them), and lower speed settings activate slides with plucked articulation, the speed of which can be controlled using the mod wheel.
We also included a sustain patch with three different velocities, a harmonic patch, tremolo (three speakers with crossfading), fret slides, guitar percussion, and auras (pads created from guitar recordings).
We included tuned and untuned versions of the patches. Untuned variations completely preserve the natural temperament of the performance throughout the entire range of the instrument.

The primary range plays the plucked natural legato performances, the high velocity range triggers the slides with no pluck samples (up to a whole-step for these) and the lower velocities activate the slides with pluck articulation – the speed of which can be controlled by the modwheel.
We’ve also included a sustains patch with three different velocities, a harmonics patch, tremolo (three crossfadeable dynamics), fret slides, guitar percussion and Auras (designed pads sourced from the guitar recordings).

Nylon Master Legato: This is the main legato patch which contains three different legato types; each individually activated by velocity.
Velocities 41-90 is the primary range which uses the natural plucked legato articulation – your bread and butter.
Velocities 91-127 activates the slide without pluck articulation (this goes up to a major 2nd) – which is designed to be treated like an expressive hammer-on/pull-off.
Velocities 1-40 is your slide into pluck articulation, which is exactly that; a string slide to the target note which is then plucked. You can control the speed of the slide with the modwheel – simple but very handy feature to hone in the desired phrasing.
