Description : The latest installment of our quarantine series, Splice Originals: Lost Highway, features Tulsa, guitarist Travis Linville. He exchanged files with our own producers who put together a set of piano parts that gave Travis the opportunity to explore the limitless possibilities of his instrument. With his intricate set of levers and pitch-bending pedals, Travis played the 10-string guitar in E9 tuning, pedaling between major and minor forms and gliding through parallel chords.
He also recorded an extensive set of one-shot notes, bends and slides that we have compiled into sampler tools for Ableton, Logic and Kontakt samplers. Each has a slightly different character, new aleatoric possibilities and unexpected melodic forms. The compositions have been processed and cut with a final layer of samplers to complete the set, creating texture combinations perfect for tracks, lo-fi, ambient and movies.
