Description:
⚡ Physically modeled + subtractive ⚡
Overview:
Modal synthesis, reimagined
Rippler offers modern modal synthesis using techniques such as bidirectional energy coupling, combined with classic subtractive synthesis featuring two oscillators and two filters.
At its core, Rippler uses resonator blocks to reproduce the sounds of various instruments without using samples. Thanks to multiple modulatable parameters, it can generate a wide range of sounds—from pads and strings to percussion and plucked instruments.
Modulation everywhere
Every parameter can be modulated by multiple sources, such as envelopes and LFOs.
A simple drag-and-drop modulation system makes it easy to create complex, time-evolving sounds. Shape any modulation connection using custom response curves via Mod Mapping—transform linear modulation into exponential, S-curve, or stepped shapes to precisely control each source’s impact on its destination.
Modular effects chain
13 effects on the master bus and 12 per layer—all within a fully modular chain.
Combine effects in any order to create unique sonic textures—ranging from subtle warmth to total sonic destruction.
Dual-layer architecture
Two independent synthesis layers with parallel and serial resonator routing. Bidirectional energy transfer between the resonators creates rich, evolving timbres that respond naturally to your playing.
Changelog:
List of changes:
1.1.2 2026-08-24
New:
Layer A can now be used as an exciter for Layer B.
LFO frequency modulation is now polyphonic.
Pitch bend range can now be set via MIDI RPN messages.
The EQ effect now displays the frequency spectrum.
Changes:
Improved tube models with bandpass resonances.
Reworked tube coupling for better sound quality.
Tube models now use cubic interpolation for cleaner sound.
Tubes now filter noise one octave below the fundamental frequency.
Filters now display their spectrum using the active layer’s color.
The EQ no longer displays its curve in bypass mode.
Direct output controls now show values in dB instead of percentages.
Reduced plugin load time by eliminating double initialization of oscillator wavetables.
Fixes:
Fixed a crash when deleting modulation connections during audio playback.
Fixed a crash when closing the plugin window immediately after enabling or disabling a section.
Fixed a crash when deleting a plugin instance or closing the host while another instance was still processing audio.
License status changes are now reflected in all open plugin instances.
Fixed audio glitches caused by resonator updates during preset loading.
Fixed an issue where repeated notes played with a different attack sound.
Fixed an issue with uneven resonator attack when using fast envelopes.
Fixed envelope behavior when switching envelope modes.
Fixed an issue with LFO frequency modulation in Hz. Fixed an issue with phaser rate modulation.
Tube effect decay no longer depends on note frequency or sample rate.
Tube effect radius no longer depends on sample rate.
Fixed a delay effect issue that caused constant noise.
Fixed an MTS-ESP detuning issue.
Fixed a latency issue when bypassing the limiter.
Oscillator wavetables no longer produce aliasing or distortion.
