Description:
This is one of the rarest amps in our collection—we’ve been searching for it for over five years. They rarely come up for sale, and when they do, prices tend to skyrocket.
The SLMR Croc Skin ZOD30 amp was primarily used by the Arctic Monkeys, who used it extensively, and also by Jack White on the Elephant album. Other artists have occasionally used these unique amps.

They have a distinctive, piercing distortion—almost fuzz-like at high volumes, yet very detailed, without harshness. They have excellent crunch and a clean sound. It’s difficult to describe and compare to anything else, as they are something truly special. Channel one, set to the edge of distortion and with a pedal in front of it, is incredible. You can get a powerful sound unlike any other amp we’ve tried, regardless of power level. It instantly captures the Jack White vibe.

Channel two has various preset switches that filter different frequencies on the channel, making it very versatile despite only having tone and volume controls on the EQ.
It’s also capable of producing pleasant and powerful clean tones and overall sounds like a big amp, which it certainly is.

Recording was done through Celestion G12 2×12 speakers with Alnico magnets, two Royer R121 microphones, one Beyerdynamic M16 microphone, and one Neumann U87 microphone.
