Analog tape echo machines have long been a favorite in recording studios. Favored by artists and producers for their charming unpredictability, these effects can do much more than simply repeat sound. They add personality and dynamics to any mix. As the audio cycles across the tape, each repeat is subtly different in tempo and pitch, creating delays that feel alive, textured, and expressive, rather than static or perfectly clean.
Tape Echo brings this feel and experience of analog instruments to the modern digital workflow. Designed for sound design and production in digital audio workstations and digital music controllers, it’s suitable for a wide range of applicationsβfrom creating precise, tempo-controlled delays to creating wide, expressive echoes. Tape Echo is perfect for shaping rhythms, adding movement to synths, or creating ambience in a mix. This feature emulates tape delay and responds naturally whenever and wherever it’s needed.
Multi-Mode Engine
Tape Echo’s multi-head architecture recreates the complex interactions of classic tape delay machines. The instrument’s Echo section features a select mode that lets you customize various combinations of the three heads. Switch between head configurations to control rhythmic patterns, stereo movement, and repeat density, each with natural variations.
Character-Aware Preamp and Chorus
Shaping the signal in the Preamp section uses Dirty, Clean, or Warm modes. Add spaciousness and width with the built-in Chorus effect, which provides classic modulation that enhances each repeat.
Tape Echo Behavior
Add motor drift, dips, and noise to recreate the whimsical instability and characteristic motion of real tape machines with an echo effect. Combined with stereo offset and flexible dry and wet settings, Tape Echo creates delay effects that change organically over time.
Switchable Player and Natural Sync
Control the sound with a moveable playhead that lets you change the delay time in real time. Enable time signature sync while preserving the natural drift of the tape for precise timing without losing the feel of analog sound.
Built-in Spring Reverb and Tone Correction
The Tape Saturator effect is available as a standalone module for MPC hardware, MPC Desktop, and all major digital audio workstations. It integrates seamlessly into any modern workflow, bringing an authentic tape timbre to any creation.

All applications have been patched to communicate with the R2R System Network Block Runtime.
Install or update (uninstall -> install) “AIR Components.”
This contains the shared resources used by AIR FX.
Uninstall previous versions.
Install the plugins.
Launch TEAM R2R INM810 inMusic Activator and register.
