Description:
Vangelis for Omnisphere is a heartfelt tribute to one of the greatest electronic composers of our time—a sound pack consisting of Vangelis-inspired synthesizer emulations and patches, crafted with deep respect and attention to detail.
Originally released in 2022, this pack has been meticulously reworked and updated for Omnisphere 3, including new effects, new patches, custom Velvet Verb presets, carefully curated Mutations, and rebalanced sound design.
The sound pack includes 135 presets—110 patches and 25 multi-presets—and comes in versions for Omnisphere 2 and 3.
Inspired by Vangelis’s timeless music, the pack reflects his creative journey, from his early works “L’Apocalypse des Animaux” and “Opera Sauvage” to the Oscar-winning “Chariots of Fire” and the film “Antarctica” directed by Koreyyoshi Kurahara, as well as albums such as “The City,” “Voices,” “Direct,” and “Oceanic.” And, of course, it pays homage to his most iconic work: the timeless soundtrack to “Blade Runner.”
Few artists have had such a profound influence on Luftrum as Vangelis. His ability to compose melodies that feel like direct expressions of emotion is something Luftrum strives to capture in their own work. Each release carries a subtle echo of his spirit, and this collection is a humble, personal tribute to the giant’s legacy.
Emulations include the legendary CS-80 from the opening credits of Blade Runner, the koto-like keyboards from “Theme from Antarctica,” the arpeggios from “Fields of Corals,” the synth horns from “Five Circles,” the fragile and delicate keyboards from “Little Girl of the Sea,” and the melancholic synth solo from Blade Runner—along with many other references and reimagined sounds.
But the collection goes beyond emulation. It also includes original patches, freely inspired by his tone and spirit—expressive keyboards, evolving pads and strings, synthesized harps, rain and wind sound effects, synth leads, and basses. Each is designed with the same emotional intent that defined Vangelis’s music—sounds we imagine Vangelis would create and use in his compositions. All presets are highly expressive and velocity-sensitive, with the modulation wheel and aftertouch playing a significant role in the execution of most sounds.
FX Racks & Velvet Verb Presets :
Note: These are not required for the pack to function. You can skip this step if you don’t need additional FX racks. All patches and multi-effects in the pack will be loaded with the required effects; these are simply additional effects for use with your own presets.
Vangelis for Omnisphere comes with 22 FX rack presets with various reverb settings, creatively and freely inspired by the Vangelis and Lexicon 224 reverbs. All FX racks feature PRO-verb as the central element, but can also feature subtle chorus, perhaps a delay effect, or EQ to achieve the right balance.
The FX racks are designed to be inserted as FX sends in the AUX tab (see below), using the AUX Send in the Common tab or the A-B-C-D tab to adjust the desired amount.
