Omnisphere Cobalt is a collection of 120 cinematic patches for the Omnisphere 2.8/3 synthesizer by Spectrasonics. It includes 188 exclusive sound sources that were recorded and developed specifically for this soundset. It uses only these new sound sources and does not recycle the standard ones found in Omnisphere or any other kit.
With Cobalt, I took a different approach to creating patches. Instead of using recordings of real instruments or objects, I created a large number of sounds using various synthesizers. I then recorded these sounds, ran them through a crazy array of strange processors, and finally used them as the original sources in Omnisphere. The result is a collection of patches that sound organic but have an inorganic origin, giving them a very unique character.
