This IR kit is based around our Vox™ AC30 6TB 2×12 combo, fitted with British-made G12M Greenback speakers with a 6402 (75Hz) cone [8 ohm versions that are warmer sounding than the 16 ohm versions in our Marshall JTM50 Bluesbreaker kit]. The kit includes 9 different dynamic, condenser, tube and ribbon microphones arranged in 4 different positions on the speaker in single and multi-mic configurations. Each single mic IR kit includes 3 options: Unaltered Mic, Enhanced and Top Boost, giving you both raw and studio-honed tonal options for the ultimate IR experience.
This IR kit is part of our new XR IR collection [XR = Extreme Realism], which is the result of countless hours of experimentation, development and A/B testing of IR systems. The XR Collection is our newest and most accurate line of impulse responses we’ve ever created. When compared to a mic’d cabinet and the same amp, it’s hard to tell the difference. We’re proud to say that these IRs are the most accurate representation of the cabinet in terms of timbre, feel, breakdown quality, and harmonic information when in use. Unlike our previous tone-matched IRs, these IRs are universal and can be used on any platform that supports loading IRs, and don’t rely on specific amp settings to sound correct. Included in the pack is a Tone Factor Starters folder with 10 carefully selected IRs from the pack to get you started quickly.
