Description:
Kontakt allows you to play and process previously recorded audio data – samples of musical instruments, sound effects, vocal tracks, etc. – but this is only a small part of the entire range of its capabilities.
In Kontakt, you can use ready-made instruments from a huge number of libraries from third-party developers or create your own virtual instruments, apply powerful built-in processing modules to their audio signals, build complex performance schemes with various modulation links.
Everything is possible – from ultra-precise recreation of real instruments to the creation of original, unique instruments.
Changes in version:
8.4.0 (2025-05-20)
Minimum OS requirements: macOS 13, 14, and 15 (latest update), Windows 10 or 11 (latest Service Pack).

Installation:
Create an empty folder. The folder name and path to it MUST NOT CONTAIN CYRILLIC. The folder MUST BE WRITTEN. Do not place the folder on the system drive.
Run the installer (KontaktPortable_v8**.exe) > “Browse…”, select the created folder > “Extract”
When you first start the Library Manager, it will automatically scan the factory content as well as the already installed libraries (registry scan).
After scanning is complete, you need to save the changes and (re)start Kontakt.
If the changes were not saved during the first launch, automatic scanning can be launched at any time using the Alt + Insert key combination or from the Manager context menu: ADD > quick search for installed libraries
By default, libraries are added only to the classic browser (except for factory content). This behavior can be changed in the Library Manager settings: Libraries > Manage Libraries in NKS Browser
