Recorded at Orb Studios in Austin, Texas. The goal of this release was to create a true workhorse, a complete library of saxophones that could perform a variety of musical tasks with atmosphere and ease. Just play your passages and ride the modulation wheel!
Vibrato is the most important characteristic. As with our Sasaki Trumpet release , we captured the natural, progressive vibrato present in Colin’s performances to make the sound as musical and believable as possible. We’ve also provided both natural (untuned) and tuned versions of our patches—the former retaining the natural pitch shifts across the instrument’s range.
We included two performance styles. Workhorse patches create an optimistic and energetic context. Great for jazz, rock and pop genres. Emotional patches were recorded soft with a subtler, emotional vibrato for delicate and expressive passages.
