1850 Pipe Organ is a sampler library of a small pipe organ.
The original instrument was the pipe organ of the church in the village of Artà (Art?), Mallorca, Spain, built in 1850. The air flow to the pipes is controlled by a 54-key wooden keyboard with a range from C1 to F5. To create the virtual instrument, the fundamental (Sustain) and decay (Release) were sampled separately, eliminating the need for separate impulse or algorithmic reverb processing, as the decay samples recreate the church’s natural reverberation tail. The organ is sampled chromatically—every key of the original instrument’s keyboard is recorded.

The Art organ has 16 registers (8 left/8 right). The graphical interface of the 1850 Pipe Organ Pro virtual instrument allows you to control the volume of each register completely independently, making it extremely versatile and flexible, as you can achieve a huge number of different, pleasing combinations, even if this capability isn’t built into the original instrument. A free version of the library is available for download from the developer’s website, but it’s limited to 8 registers instead of 16, and it doesn’t offer flexible control over each register. However, it does allow you to control the overall volume and reverb tail volume directly from the graphical interface. The Pro version is more flexible, as in addition to controlling the overall volume and reverb, it also allows you to adjust the pan and amplitude for each register.
