Frequency Finder
Your journey begins here. With a single click of the Finder button, KickShaper intelligently identifies the dominant frequency of your stroke, instantly choosing the perfect way to enhance its ending. Of course, this can be adjusted manually if needed. This ensures that KickShaper’s processing always matches the musical key of your stroke.
Deboom
At the heart of KickShaper is the Deboom control. If your kicks have a lot of low frequencies and are distorting or overloading your mix, this feature will be your salvation. It’s not just another low-pass filter or compressor. Instead, Deboom ingeniously shortens the wavelength of the low frequencies, making your kicks punchy and expressive, yet concise. These kicks will blend seamlessly with your killer basslines and 808s. Your bass will no longer dominate the entire low-frequency spectrum; it will blend seamlessly with the rest of your track.
Tails
KickShaper boasts an exclusive approach to kicktail creation, which sets this plugin apart from simple sub-generators. This Tail module resonates with the filters, creating a frequency resonance that is completely free of unpleasant buzzing artifacts. By extracting sub-frequencies from the original kicktail and harmonizing them naturally, KickShaper integrates with the original kicktail, providing a clean and cohesive sound.
Thump & Click
The Thump control analyzes low-frequency waves and adjusts the sustain of your bass, affecting only the low frequencies and preserving the essence of the bass. KickShaper’s Click module is an advanced transient shaping algorithm that handles unpredictable bass patterns, fast hits, and variable tempos. By analyzing high-frequency waves, precise transient shaping is achieved, making KickShaper an indispensable transient processing plugin.
Tone & Enhance
The Tone section of KickShaper is specifically designed for bass processing. The Cut knob is used to fine-tune the low frequencies, the Low knob is used to add definition, the Mid knob is used to adjust muddiness, and the High knob is used for precise control of clicks.
The Depth control applies analog hardware convolution to improve the bass, making it more spacious, adding depth and dampening excessive high frequencies. Heat enhances the bass, slightly saturating it. Impact processing simulates console compression and is fine-tuned for use with bass. Limiter smooths out bass peaks, ensuring that they are expressive and powerful, even on small speakers.
Visual Feedback & Comparison
KickShaper is built around vector graphics with a resizable interface. The central window displays the audio in real time, allowing you to see exactly what is happening to the signal as it passes through the plugin.
