The viola often shines as the unsung hero of the string family, its warm, somber tone perfectly balanced between the brilliance of the violin and the depth of the cello. As a solo instrument, it offers a distinctive, introspective voice, rich in color and deeply expressive. Capturing the subtle soul of this instrument is a unique challenge, one we approached with precision and meticulousness.
Synchron Solo Viola unleashes the full expressive potential of this instrument in a virtual performance partner that is inspiringly realistic and responsive. Whether you’re composing a graceful chamber piece or a cinematic cue brimming with emotion and depth, the Synchron Solo Viola will be your perfect companion for all your solo explorations.
Meet the Virtuoso
The Synchron Solo Viola features a stellar performance by Anna Firsanova, principal violist of the Vienna Synchron Orchestra. Originally from Moscow, she studied in both her hometown and Vienna, shaping her unique musical voice in these rich cultural landscapes. A winner of several international competitions, Anna was a member of the Wiener Jeunesse Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. She is currently co-principal violist of the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, bringing expressive depth and refined artistry to both concert halls and recording studios. Her performances at the Vienna Synchron Stage can be heard on recordings of The Acolyte and the anime Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul.
Profoundly articulated
Anna Firsanova brought exceptional dedication and precision to the extensive sampling sessions in the grand hall of Vienna’s Synchron Stage – a commitment clearly reflected in the impressive range of articulations captured. Short notes include various spiccatos, staccato, detaches, ricochets, and saltandos. Long notes are accompanied by various vibrato styles, varying attacks and releases, and various slides. Legato variations include normal, flexible, slurred, portamento, and lyrical styles. Playing techniques such as sforzato, multiple crescendos and diminuendos, tremolos, trills, harmonics, pizzicato, and colno add a wealth of styles, tonal colors, and dynamic nuances to the expressive possibilities of this virtual instrument.
