The deep, resonant, and sonorous timbre of the cello always captivates with its inherent mystery and dark beauty. Its dynamic spectrum ranges from delicate subtleties to powerful, passionate outbursts that resonate with listeners in a unique way. This emotional depth is further enhanced when the cello, in all its velvety and dark beauty, takes center stage as a solo instrument, drawing attention to the effortless combination of lyrical melody and rhythmic precision.

This level of virtuoso musicality is difficult for any performer to achieve, and almost equally difficult to capture. With Synchron Solo Cello, we’ve created a library that’s incredibly detailed yet easy to use. Whether you want to convey the sadness of a film character with a deeply resonant melody or discover the menacing sound of the cello when playing “diabolus in musica,” Synchron Solo Cello is your partner in all your solo explorations.

Meet the Virtuoso

The Synchron Solo Cello was performed by renowned soloist Florian Eggner, who was also one of the first chairmen of the Vienna Synchron Orchestra. Since founding one of the leading piano trios of our time in 1997 with his two brothers, Georg and Christoph, the Grammy-nominated Eggner Trio has given numerous concerts around the world (Vienna Musikverein, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall in London, Cité de la Musique Paris, Carnegie Hall in New York). He has contributed to various media projects, such as “Call of Duty Mobile Season 9.” For this project, he played solo cello, adding significant depth and emotion to the music, highlighting the quality and influence of professional musicians on the atmosphere of video games.

Deeply Formulated

Florian Eggner demonstrated exceptional dedication and focus during one of the most extensive sampling sessions in Vienna’s Synchron Stage, a large hall, as evidenced by the vast number of available articulations. Short notes include various spiccatos, staccato, détaches, ricochets, and saltandos. Long notes are accompanied by various vibrato styles, various attacks and releases, and various slides. Legato variations include normal, flexible, slurred, portamento, and lyrical styles. Playing techniques such as sforzato, multiple crescendos and diminuendos, tremolos, trills, harmonics, pizzicato, and colno add a wealth of styles, tonal colors, and dynamic nuances to the expressive possibilities of this virtual instrument.
