Release notes for Superior Drummer 3.4.1 :
CHANGES
General
Loading EZXs may be a bit faster now, if they are located on an SSD.
Song Track
In the Block menu and in the MIDI block right-click menu, the song part color of the selected block is now shown next to the Song Part submenu.
E-Drums
Added presets: Zildjian ALCHEM-E, DruML S1.
Settings
The disk type for SDXs no longer always defaults to HDD – SD3 now tries to detect whether the disk is an SSD.
Standalone
Buffer sizes 16 and 32 have been added in Audio/MIDI Setup.
BUG FIXES
General
At sample rate 44.1 kHz, the plug-ins (not in the standalone) now always have and report 16 samples added latency, to prevent potential latency changes during playback. Related to this, in some hosts (for example Ableton Live), looping would in version 3.4.0 cause an audio glitch.
Using “Select Parts” to load parts of a Drums and Mixer Preset could potentially cause a crash.
Toggling 16-bit mode (in the memory view in the upper right corner) when Cached mode is on will now clear the cache.
On Windows, the tab key did not work as expected in external windows (detached views).
Visible Macro Controls behave better now when the window is resized, and no more than 100 of them will ever be shown. If more than that were shown before, interacting with those could lead to crashes.
It was not possible to drag audio from certain hosts, for example Cubase, to SD3.
Fixed an issue where a project file could grow larger and larger, eventually making it very slow to open.
Song Track
Deleting a song block using a keyboard shortcut while the mouse was over one of the notes in the Grid Editor would cause a crash.
Using Edit Play Style or undoing various actions could cause notes exactly at the end of a MIDI block to disappear.
“Paste on Selected Groove” with a certain kit piece (not “All”) did not work correctly on merged or resized MIDI blocks – it could move the other existing notes (that were not replaced by the paste) and resize the blocks.
“Paste on Selected Groove” did not retain notes hidden outside the edges (of a MIDI block that had earlier been resized to be smaller).
“Paste on Selected Groove” in the MIDI block right-click menu would incorrectly show a keyboard shortcut (the one for “Paste at Playhead”).
“Select Containing Folder in Grooves” should now work in more cases in older projects (instead of it opening a folder in Finder/Explorer).
MIDI blocks created by drag-repeating a block would not respond to Solo/Mute of instruments in the Grid Editor.
Drums Tab
Loading a User Instrument containing stacks would in some cases not create proper routing for the stacked instruments.
Previewing instruments without MIDI assignments should now work correctly also for instrument with stacks.
Clicking on the main instrument in a stack would visually play the other stacked instruments too.
Dragging audio would never highlight pads of added instruments or the Add Instrument drop zone.
The Drum Head tuning algorithm didn’t perform correctly on reversed articulations.
Fixed an animation glitch in the articulation menu.
Grooves Tab
Dragging a Groove Part of a MIDI file to a song track block would in some cases incorrectly add an opening hit to the block.
Grid Editor
Changing the timing of notes, for example with Nudge, and then selecting another block on the song track (without first deselecting the notes) would undo those changes.
Choke events are no longer shown for instruments that do not support them. Previously, expanding such an instrument (to show the articulation rows) with choke events existing for it on the track would cause a crash.
The Pencil Tool mouse cursor now shows a minus over existing notes and over existing blocks in the Channel AT editor, since clicking will remove them.
Several bug fixes regarding muting/soloing of instrument rows and the Clear Solo/Mute and Recall Solo/Mute buttons.
Mixer
Toggling Solo on a channel in the mixer would clear the “Recall Mute” state, and toggling Mute would clear the “Recall Solo” state.
E-Drums
Simmons Titan 70 hi-hat fixes.
Installation is possible on a “clean” system, or over a previously installed version.
