It features three unique kits, a plethora of snares and kicks, and over 30 cymbals – all flawlessly recorded in one of the world’s most famous hard rock and metal studios: Studio A at One On One in Los Angeles. Massive-sounding, warm and alive, yet dense and aggressive at the same time, this room has all the qualities to move air in a way that feels like it was made for powerful metal drums. This is borne out by the many defining records that have been recorded here, some of which include the likes of Megadeth’s “Rust in Peace,” Metallica’s “…And Justice for All” and “The Black Album,” Dream Theater’s “Awake,” and Testament’s “The Ritual.”
Each of the three included drum kits represents its own niche sound. One covers Dirk’s current touring kit, another his tenure with Soilwork, and the third was hand-picked to offer a completely contrasting tone and vibe. Overall, you’ll have a balanced yet eclectic palette of kits, covering everything from loud, aggressive, and punchy to big, low, and warm.
