Description : Taking advantage of bedroom pop and making the most of what you have, multi-instrumentalist and sound engineer Ben Bromley channeled his inner 1990s childhood. He sampled a late 1980s Yamaha PSS synthesizer that used the Yamaha YM3812 chip (the first chip to make FM synthesis available to the masses) and built Serum presets with its wavetables.
From that starting point, the pack draws on a 20-year history of homegrown music from mid-90s hip-hop and pop to millennial indie and vaporwave. It includes a carefully crafted set of homemade drum samples and a selection from his dusty old hard drive. The results offer everything you want from synthwave, indie rock, lo-fi and pop. Inspired by songs such as Tycho, Teendaze, My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins and Mac Demarco, these sounds are nostalgic yet offer a unique contemporary perspective.
