Sorry, does this mean copy from Omnisphere 2.8?
Copy the AUDIO16.DAT file to AUDIO19.DAT and save it in this location:
    %programdata%\Spectrasonics

With these crappy instructions, I doubt anyone can install it. What the hell does this mean “Copy AUDIO16.DAT to AUDIO19.DAT”???

Ok so you have before install the “AUDIO16.DAT” copy this in another location.
    Rename this AUDIO16.DAT to AUDIO19.DAT
After copy the 19 to the 16 folder
    Install the 3.0

I think we should wait a bit for a few additional patch and fixes and then there will be a complete and proper repack of it

I can’t find any of those two audio16 or audio19.Is there something I’m missing? Please…?

I found audio16 in my old install. I believe they are saying copy the audio16 folder to a new location, rename it audio19 then copy that renamed file to the original location thus adding a new file. Did anyone get this to work without it asking for a new registration code?

So I want to keep both audio16.dat and the newly renamed audio19.dat or replace 16 with 19? When you say after, copy it back, then install 3.0 this is confusing. Copy it back after changing the name or after installing 3.0?

Before installing 3.0 you have to locate audionn.dat (it also may be named 15 or 17 or whatever , just check you have 2.8 working) in %programdata%\Spectrasonics folder. Then you have to copy and rename it to audio19.dat and place it back into %programdata%\Spectrasonics. Then you prepare the new STEAM folder (library) and only in the end you install omnisphere 3.

“prepare the new Steam folder” You mean replace the old Omnisphere’s Steam folders with the new ones? Will Trilian and RMX still work? Did you get it to work?

@marco, yes, I have Trillian and Keyscape and for those there isn’t any problem as they stay in their own subfolders. Same for RMX which is in the SAGE folder. If you have other additional libraries for omnisphere as I have, just look at all directory structures, just replicate and copy them into the new omnisphere 3 folder. I suggest you make a copy of the old one in case anything goes wrong. All immediately worked fine for me.

@sad no omnisphere guy :[ did you look in the correct folder c:\programdata\Spectrasonics? First of all, is that folder existing? What version of Omnisphere do you already have installed and working? Try maybe reinstalling Omnisphere 2.8……

So we should follow the instructions here you gave then install the R2R version? Did anyone attempt this yet? I’m waiting because I don’t want to blow up my working version. Thanks Tony and to the people that do all the hard work. Not a complainer. I’m grateful. Perhaps someone at R2R will ring in.

@Marco, thanks! With this TCD version everything is working fine for me, so I don’t need to risk with R2R version….I was suggesting to try R2R to those who don’t have Omnisphere 2.8+ already installed or those having problems. Only on my laptop I had to uninstall 2.8 AFTER installing 3.0, as Studio One 7 was loading omnisphere 2 vst3 instead of Omnisphere 3. All perfect on my desktop, both stand alone and vst3. Consider that uninstalling Omnisphere 2 leaves the folder c:\programdata\Spectrasonics untouched as well as the STEAM folder. Once you have the new 3.0 STEAM folder, Omnisphere 2 is totally unuseful, as it can’t manage it and ask for updating to a higher version.

can you have both versions Omnisphere 2,7 and 3 installed on the same disk?? I don`t want to blow up my projects… my omnisphere 2,7 R2R is working fine… what about the third party libraries will they work or should be reinstaled?

Everything is ok but keyscape, trillian sonic extensions libraries not working anymore on Cubase Omnisphere vst3…can you help me? It says: “need to authorize product before using…”. No problem on the standalone Omnisphere 3…

Sounds good except that I STILL can’t find the Audio.dat.16 file in my old 2.8 install. Where in the old install did you find it? I’ve been sitting on it for 4 days since downloading Omni 3. Any ideas?

    That file is under C:\PROGRAMDATA\SPECTRONICS.
If you can’t see the folder check off HIDDEN ITEMS under the VIEW menu in your File Explorer.

So I followed instructions and Omni 3 working fine standalone and VST3 but now all of my other soundbanks and even those included in Omni 2.8, like Moog Tribute and others, are not there any more. I do have my other box with the original STEAM folder from before I loaded Omni 3. How can I get back all the other stuff? I did try to go to the browser and refresh it but the arrow is greyed out.
