Voices of Rage is an aggressive death metal, hardcore, metalcore and power metal vocal library that combines stunning vocal performances, powerful word and lyric systems, tempo-synced step-sequencing features, multiple microphone types, multi-effects rack and a ton of cutting-edge content and features. It explores the raw, brutal and guttural vocal style that death metal is known for, in all its roaring, screaming, hissing and screeching glory.
We recorded vocalists Evan “Severed” Seidlitz, Alecia “Mixi” Demner (Stitched Up Heart), Jason Kocol (Impaled), Aaron Boynton (The Sky We Scrape) and Redouane Aouameur. Each singer brings their own unique style and technique to the table, giving you the opportunity to work with a wide range of metal sub-genres. We have pushed them to their absolute physical limits to create a vast array of fully reproducible texts. Wordmaster’s huge dictionary contains 100 words, covering a variety of nouns, pronouns, verbs and adjectives. Each word was chosen to create an effective lyrical toolkit with variations of sustain and staccato, from guttural death metal to acid-screaming undertones. We’ve also recorded hundreds of live microphrases that can be assembled into your own songs using our step-by-step phrase sequencer, and can be tempo-synced, stretched, layered, and mixed in all sorts of ways.
Each of the five vocalists was recorded in dry studio conditions using multiple microphones, which allowed them to capture every subtle nuance of the performance, giving it a special sonic flavor. We used a Shure SM58 dynamic stage microphone to capture the power and grit of the stage performance. We also recorded with a Neumann TLM 103 large-diaphragm studio condenser microphone for clean, sharp full-range clarity and impeccable fidelity. We then carefully prepared and edited each sample and hand-programmed each element into an unparalleled interface for efficiency and control.
