Description: The Microrgan is a vintage 49-key electric reed organ created in the 1950s by the Italian electronics company Farfisa. The rare and sought-after origins of this classic instrument are shrouded in mystery, and our particular keyboard still sounded good as new over the years thanks to its solid mechanics and simple design, even though it was already worn out. We captured her warm, humble and yet rich tone with endless sustain and tight staccato. But to take the instrument far beyond the usual library of reed organ samples, we’ve also created 20 stunning custom synth sounds, special effects, and 40 unique atmospheric sound zones that can be played back-to-back as atmospheric synths, drones, and pads, or used directly in your DAW to create musical accompaniment and texture.
We’ve packed the GUI with lots of great audio controls that give you the flexibility to shape your audio in different ways. You have control over volume, attack, release, transients, vibrato and octave. The Glide control slider allows you to play legato and portamento. You’ll also find an adaptable LFO system, with selectable shape, modulation target, speed, intensity, tempo sync, and decay time. You can also choose from 13 low- and high-pass filters and effects with preset modulation control parameters, including velocity, mod wheel, expression, aftertouch, key position, and step sequencer table control. You can also use our custom arpeggiator with the built-in velocity sequencer table and control the direction of arpeggiated elements, note timing, offset, randomization and duration.
In addition to dynamic sound control and mixing, the instrument features a customizable user interface and a full effects rack with convolution reverb from over 100 different rooms, halls, areas and special FX pulses.
Microrgan was recorded by John Valasis. John is a Greek composer, producer and sound engineer. From his Athens studio he provides music production and sound design services to a large number of local and international clients. John’s clients represent prestigious brands such as Native Instruments, Ableton, Soundiron, Virgin, Amazon Prime Video, Vice Magazine and the BBC. Since 2014, John has been on the Ninja Tune Just Isn’t Music roster, alongside artists such as Amon Tobin, Bonobo, Flying Lotus and The Cinematic Orchestra.
John’s professional work began in the ’90s, emerging in his late teens as a popular music composer and producer and gradually expanding his skill set across a variety of genres. Thanks to the abilities he has acquired through his 20-year professional career, as well as his genuine love for emotional music, he has been able to create a strong musical identity that expresses individuality and diversity. When he’s not working very intensely, John uses Poordream’s music as a vehicle to freely express his emotions and influences without restrictions and to explore sound and composition outside of conventional electronic music.
Microrgan was recorded in the studio using a pair of Neumann TLM 103 microphones. We also recorded presets with staccato and sustain for each key. Built-in vibrato and FX rack provide a simple, easy-to-use interface for fully customizing and shaping your fat analog sound to suit a variety of creative possibilities.
The library is equipped with flexible control functions such as Swell, pitch Glide, Attack, Release, Vibrato and Octave.
