Description: Tines & Echoes is a unique handcrafted percussion instrument created by designer and sound engineer Bart Hopkin. It is a pentagonal soundbox with 25 chromatically tuned metal tines, each of which has a pair of resonating strings that wrap around the instrument’s soundboard. Instead of tuning these strings to their main tines, they are tuned randomly so that the vibrations resonate with different combinations of strings connected to other tines. When the tines are struck, they produce a sharp, crisp note that reverberates through the resonating strings and through the instrument in a soft, ghostly ringing sound, reminiscent of the celestial flow you hear when playing the deep top octave of a piano.
We carefully sampled string slivers and percussive drums across the body of the instrument with two stereo microphone positions. We’ve also included a wide selection of custom FX presets and plenty of our signature sound designed for ambient and cinematic content, created from a raw acoustic source to give you complete creative freedom.
The Kontakt interface includes a suite of automation-ready audio controls that provide complete creative flexibility. You can control build-up, attack, release, offset, vibrato, filter, pitch (coarse and fine), articulation switching, decay, layering, and more. We’ve also included 20 unique audio presets custom FX presets to give you plenty of creative options.
This library comes with an adaptable LFO system, with the ability to select LFO shape, modulation target, speed, intensity, onset timing. You can also apply your choice of 12 low-pass, high-pass and FX filters with assignable modulation targets such as velocity, mod wheel, expression, aftertouch, key position and step sequencer table control. Our custom arpeggiator offers a velocity table and controls for arpeggio direction, timing, shift, randomization and duration. We’ve included a key and scale locking system to limit your notes to common scales and keys for easy melodic arrangement and live performance.
The interface features our modular effects panel with 18 different DSP effect modules that you can assign to any of the 10 available slots in any order. You’ll find classic phaser, flanger, delay, distortion, amps and cab simulators, compressors, EQ, rotator and more. The reverb effect features our favorite impulses, including 99 different rooms, halls, chambers and outdoor environments, plus another 40 custom effects to radically transform sound and open up whole new worlds of musical possibilities. We’ve added a great set of factory presets for FX chains to get you started!
