An old school drum machine using 21st century sampling techniques: looping samples, multi-channel sounds, generative sequencers.
It features acoustic drums recorded in innovative ways to achieve a warm, dry and tight sound. There are no traditional velocity layers here, only “normal” + “accent”. Each of these layers has 10 cycles, which give the drums a lively and organic feel.
All sounds in AC-DR are generated by acoustic drums using microphones, contact microphones, echo chambers and transformer distortion. Each AC-DR
drum module has up to 5 mixing channels. Each of these channels is part of the same drum beat, all perfectly aligned in phase and time. Warm acoustic tones that you can tune and shape just like analog.

Each drum was carefully recorded in large batches of hits, which were then edited by ear to produce a tight set of 10 random hits that sound as identical as possible.

All bass drum, snare, rimshot and tom samples were re-amplified in two Rockfield echo chambers. The resulting reverb samples can be mixed into a separate channel: this is an important additional element of drum design.
