Kirk has been at the top of his game since the early 90s and is a pioneer of this style, so whether you’re just starting out or a seasoned producer, you know you’re in good hands. This 3-hour, easy-to-learn course provides a professional perspective on creating your own dance track.
Drawing influence from various artists in this beloved genre, Kirk starts with a blank canvas and creates a developing rhythm using classic 808 samples, then lays down the main chord using the helpful Scaler plugin from Plugin Boutique. We then add classic Jupiter 8 and DX 7 sounds for the pads and bass, fill in the percussion, and chop up a breakbeat before adding a beautiful melody, arpeggios, and a classic acid 303 line.
After the arrangement, Kirk shows us his method of running everything through a tape emulation before we dive into his mixing process, finishing the track ready to be sent to the mastering engineer.
