Dutch harpsichord from 1628. With two manuals and multiple registers, harpsichords of this type offer a variety of unique sounds. Sampled with six different register combinations, including upper 8′, lower 8′, upper and lower 8′, 4′, and tutti. Like all harpsichords, the Dutch harpsichord is not touch-sensitive. However, even if the differences are slight, the same note will not sound exactly the same due to the different resonances of the case and strings. Therefore, up to eight variations of each note were sampled.
