Ukrainian Bandura – a library of samples of the Ukrainian folk instrument bandura. A 55-string instrument produced by the Chernigov factory in the 1980s was used for digitization. The collection includes samples recorded in the following versions:
Solo (4 speed layers, 6 round robin layers)
Trio (4 velocity layers, 2 round robin layers, based on the same samples as Solo, with 3 samples per note)
FX1-3 (178 sound effects created with the instrument)
The instrument’s tonal range is A0-D#5, mapped to A1-D#6 on the keyboard. All samples were recorded in 24-bit/44.1 kHz format.
The sample set contains 1315 monophonic WAV samples, which are displayed as 9 programs for Kontakt 2 and above, 1 script program for Kontakt v.3-5 and 10 programs for EXS24. The total library size without compression is 2 GB.
The full version of Kontakt is required; the library does not work with the free Kontakt Player software.
OMG man this is one beautiful instrument. Thanks, I was looking at EthnoWorld for it. First heard in YouTube video of a soldier playing one.
