Description: Pendulum is an Australian musical group formed in mid-2002. It is considered one of the most progressive Drum&Bass groups, distinguished by its special sound. The first Pendulum composition “Vault” became one of the loudest releases of 2003, receiving the “Knowledge Magazine” award – “Best Single of 2003”. From that moment on, Pendulum’s promotion and production were taken over by some of the most influential people in the drum’n’bass industry – Adam F and Fresh (Bad Company UK). The new sound of Pendulum attracted their attention so much that the band was offered to join the then newly opened, and now very influential label – Breakbeat Kaos.
The result of this union was the release of the super single – Another Planet, as well as the album “Voyager”. In the summer of 2005, Pendulum released the album “Hold Your Colour”, the tracks from which immediately appeared at the top of the charts. A video clip for the composition “Slam” appears. Immediately after the release of this album, Pendulum released a single on XL Recordings with a remix of the Prodigy song – “Voodoo People”. This resulted in the shooting of a joint video for the two bands. It is noteworthy that EA TRAX, known for its scrupulous attitude to the selection of the soundtrack for its games, contributed three Pendulum compositions to the soundtrack for the game Need for Speed: Undercover. 9000 Miles, Granite and The Tempest were selected.
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010) featured Watercolour and a remix of “Stay Too Long” by Plan B, and Watercolour was also featured on the F1 2010 soundtrack. Three of the band’s tracks, “Propane Nightmares”, “Watercolour” and “Witchcraft”, were also used for Formula 1 preview videos: the 2008 Belgian GP, ββthe 2010 Turkish GP and the 2010 Belgian GP respectively. On 6 April 2011, Pendulum released a charity single, “Ransom”, a track not included on the Immersion album; according to Rob Swire, all proceeds from the single’s sales will go to aid Japan following the earthquake and tsunami of 11 March 2011. In August 2011, Pendulum announced they were going on hiatus until 2013.
