The Evolution Flatwound Bass is a vintage P-style electric bass featuring flatwound strings for a deep, rich tone.
We developed the library in collaboration with Rosewood Recording Company, one of Utah’s most respected recording studios. Guy Randle , the company’s owner and engineer, used analog audio equipment to skillfully convey and highlight the rich tonal qualities of the instrument, available in both the original direct and amplified signals.
To record the samples, Guy Randle enlisted the help of experienced bassist Rob Honey . As a session musician, Rob has contributed to numerous CDs, film soundtracks, television commercials and programs. He toured with the band Donny & Marie and was the bass player for Enoch Train . Rob is also a skilled arranger and songwriter. He worked as a writer for Reba McEntire’s publishing company, Starstruck Writer’s Group. His songs have been recorded by Diamond Rio, Faith Hill and many other artists. His song Norma Jean Riley was a number one hit and was named Country Song of the Year by Radio & Record.
Evolution Flatwound Bass is based on our Evolution engine, which gives you a ton of power: flexible mapping, tone and playback settings, and a powerful set of effects. The library contains a variety of ready-to-use presets of classic and modern bass tones that fit perfectly into a mix.

Changelog:
• Ability to lock individual settings and articulations, allowing you to switch snapshot presets without overwriting specific settings and mapped articulations. Note that the old “Lock Mapping” setting has now been removed. If you relied on this setting in any existing projects, the new version will automatically convert them to use the individual locking settings.
• New setting: “Performance Effect Keys”, allowing you to control the range of keys that performance effects are mapped to.
• New setting for Evolution Bluegrass Banjo: “Drone String in All Chords”, allowing you to include the drone string in any chord voicing, or exclude it from chord voicings that do not include its pitch as a chord tone.
• Improved fretboard display efficiency.
• Changed legato pitch and range settings to semitones instead of interval names.
• Fixed a heap memory issue when unmapping a sustain articulation, but try using one of the MIDI based articulations like slides.
