In the guitar world, the word “boutique” implies the attention to detail inherent in limited edition guitars, ensuring a level of quality rarely found in mass-produced instruments. The Evolution Boutique Acoustic recording, made on a steel-string acoustic guitar crafted by legendary luthier Dana Bourgeois, allows you to appreciate the results of his mastery.
Until now, most of our virtual guitars were played with a pick. With Evolution Boutique Acoustic, we decided to focus exclusively on fingerpicking. Many small details occur when your fingers are in direct contact with the strings. When playing softly, you can hear all the subtle, rich harmonics, while at a louder volume, you’ll experience a bright, sparkling tone.
As the old saying goes, tone is in the fingers. We firmly believe this, and this project was the perfect opportunity to work with seasoned guitarist Michael Dowdle. His years of performing and session experience are evident in every note. Michael Dowdle has recorded and performed with artists such as Marie Osmond, The Osmond Brothers, Brian Wilson (Beach Boys), John Schneider, David Archuleta, The Jets, and many others.
The instrument was recorded at Rosewood Recording Company, one of the most respected recording studios in Utah. Guy Randle, owner and engineer at Rosewood Recording Company, used analog equipment to skillfully shape and highlight the guitar’s rich tonal qualities. The Evolution Boutique Acoustic includes both the recorded signal and an enhanced signal, which can be mixed to suit your taste. This instrument is powered by our Evolution engine, which offers a wealth of features: a vast collection of effects, built-in guitar patterns, and a wealth of customization options to tailor the instrument to your needs.
