Sure I’ve said it before here……. traditional African guitar such as in Soukous style and Congolese rumba is a style unto itself. Haven’t yet heard this sampler but the “rhythms” in the title might imply strummed chords? Actually the guitar rhythm parts are heavy on arpeggios. In the 70’s and 80’s there were weekend radio shows out of Washington, D.C. with hours of this style…. it is literally feel-good stuff.
Learning the patterns may seem so easy but there’s a certain syncopation at end of phrases that are incredibly challenging.
