Recorded on authentic Abbey Road Studios in London, 50s DRUMMER sounds include a library of grooves, mixer presets and a new set of brush sounds, giving you an authentic feel of 1950s rock ‘n’ roll, rhythm and blues, country and jazz.
ABBEY ROAD 50s DRUMMER features rare instruments from the earliest years of popular music. The first kit dates back to the early 1950s and is a Gretsch Cadillac Green Nitron drum kit with a 20″ bass drum, 12″ alto tom and 14″ floor tom. mix among electrified instruments. The second setup is from the late 1950s, the WFL kit. It includes a 20″ bass drum, 12″ and 13″ alto toms, and a 16″ baritone floor tom. In the WFL, the toms are tuned high, giving a lighter tone, which complements the Gretsch set well.Each set contains three different snare drums from the same period, which gives sonic variety and additional customization options.The sets include a set of period cymbals – Zildjian A and K for an authentic vintage sound.
50s DRUMMER was recorded at the legendary Second Studio in London’s Abbey Road. Along with traditional microphone equipment, vintage RCA 44-BX and AKG D12 microphones, a REDD.17 tube mixing console and a tube tape recorder were used to create the library.
New variations of the brush sounds and their varied performance articulations were also recorded specifically for the 50s DRUMMER to showcase the characteristic playing techniques of the time. The extensive library of grooves includes samples of early rock and roll, rhythm and blues, country and jazz, as well as many modern rhythms. This gives users the ability to create both sketches and complete recordings of drum parts.
