Description: MOTU has unveiled the 10th version of Digital Performer, a major update to its flagship audio software.
New features include a Clips window for live triggering and looping of audio and MIDI clips, Stretch Audio powered by industry-leading ZTX PRO technology, VCA faders, a new user-friendly content browser, VST3 plugin support, scalable UI and audio a 5 GB bank containing hundreds of virtual instruments.
Users can now drag and drop audio and MIDI clips from the new Content Browser DP into cells in the Clips window and trigger them in real time, interactively, for live performance, or for inspiration while creating new material. Users can also run clip groups with multiple tracks (partial row of cells) or an entire row (clips across all tracks). A new Stretch editing layer for audio tracks allows users to drag and drop individual beats and their anchor points to fine-tune them to get exactly the feel they want. For global tempo control, users can simply turn on Stretch mode for each track, and the entire audio track instantly aligns with the tempo and timeline of the project, even as the tempo changes gradually over time. ZTX PRO technology from Zynaptiq provides the highest possible audio quality. The DP10’s advanced beat detection mechanism makes it easy to match imported rhythmic sounds.
As with classic analog consoles of yesteryear, the DP10’s VCA faders can control any number of tracks, keeping their relative volume precisely. Mix automation can be applied to VCAs, and sub fader automation is supported and scalable across the board. The DP10 also includes a 5GB library of samples, acoustic instruments, synths, loops and phrases. This versatile collection of instruments spans musical genres, eras, geographic regions, and cultural styles.
