It is designed using physical modeling principles based on classical “feedback” topology when designing hardware circuits.
The degree of sidechain detection 925 is based on an analog envelope detector circuit.
When used at extreme settings for sounds with sustain, it can cause a distortion effect. This happens when, due to the high speed of the detector, it follows the actual waveform and not the envelope of the program material.
After much deliberation, it was decided not to exclude such a range of settings, since the process is very dependent on the program. Instead, the user is given full control, because even if some settings are not suitable for a particular material, they are often ideal for another situation.
This often happens with vintage equipment and modern equipment, and has resulted in a very wide range of compression performance in 925s, especially. suitable for main mix applications as well as a mix bus or multiple individual channels.
