Description :
MixHead is a classic 90s-style tape emulation. Rather than striving for a completely accurate imitation of analog tape,
it captures some of the key elements of the excitement that tape brings to the recording process, without many of its drawbacks.
It’s also a key component of Serban Ghenea’s stereo mixing bus. Furthermore, Serban kindly provided a preset containing the settings
he most frequently used with the original device. This preset is included with the MixHead.
This adds richness and glues together disparate elements in the audio spectrum, making them blend harmoniously and fit into the mix
without dulling the high frequencies or disrupting the transient response of the sound.
Although this device was originally primarily used as a mixer bus processor and hasn’t been available for sale for many years,
the MixHead now lets you use it with greater success on the main bus, groups, and even individual channels.
The 3.75 IPS mode adds more aggressive tape distortion and improves frequency response, which can help achieve a lo-fi sound
on the bus or simply boost individual channels. “Machine Head was a very useful and valuable tool as a standalone piece of hardware, but now, as a plug-in,
it allows me to use it in ways I couldn’t before!”
