Luftrum is, if not a genius, then certainly a highly talented sound designer. His experiments produce harmonious textures rather than idiotic grinding and noise. He became widely known after writing a series of spatial patches for use in Propellerheads Reason.
A collection of patches primarily for Thor. Six volumes have been released. However, volumes 4 and 6 are not for Reason. Each collection is titled “Luftrum” and then follows a sequential number. This download features Luftrum 1, Luftrum 2, Luftrum 3, and Luftrum 5.
Luftrum 1 is a must-have in any ambient musician’s arsenal. 66 patches for the Thor synthesizer (included in Reason) are presented in the soundscapes, pads, and atmospheres categories. Luftrum 1 includes: 22 Ambient Pads, 10 Deepspace Signature Patches, 10 Textured Soundscapes, 6 Sleeping Drones, 6 Lead Synths, 5 Sounds of Nature, 4 Famous Ambient Classics, and 3 Sequenced Atmospheres.
Luftrum 2 is an exclusive collection of patches for Thor in the ambient pads, sleeping drones, and textured soundscapes categories. Luftrum 2 includes: 38 Ambient Pads, 16 Textured Soundscapes, 8 Minimalistic Lead Synths, and 7 Sleeping Drones.
