Description: IZotope, in collaboration with BT, has presented Stutter Edit 2, a major update to its plug-in for processing micro-rhythmic sound effects. BT describes the update as “an absolute wormhole of strength and inspiration.”
Stutter Edit 2 lets you create the famous stutter editing effect with a single button to slice and dice your samples, tracks and mixes. The update contains a new automatic mode, an updated interface, new effect modules and more.
Here are the key features of Stutter Edit 2:
Auto Mode and MIDI Setup – Stutter Edit 2 is a “game effect” – it must be “activated” in order to do anything with your sound. Now you can instantly launch Gestures in the new automatic mode, which allows you to activate presets with a single button. You can also use a MIDI keyboard to tell Stutter Edit 2 when to trigger, allowing you to “play” your effects like an instrument.
Banks and Gestures – Stutter Edit 2 includes hundreds of new Gestures (presets) developed by BT and iZotope. When Gesture fires, you can turn your audio into a short rhythmic idea or a sprawling, evolving soundscape. Gestures fall into Banks, which are automatically projected onto your MIDI keyboard, so you can run different Gestures at will.
Stutter & Buffer – At the heart of Stutter Edit 2 are the Stutter and Buffer controls that blur the lines between melody, rhythm and sound. Stutter Edit 2 Slice or “buffer” audio into razor-sharp slices and play them at different speeds.
Time Variant Modifiers – Set the range for any effect in Stutter Edit 2 so that it transforms and changes over time with your Gesture. Time Variant Modifiers can be added to any parameter to control how and where within the range the effect is played. Customize your TVMs with Curve Editor to easily create unique moving effects.
The Curve Editor lets you control the movement of the effect when playing a Gesture. You can choose a pre-made curve or draw your own.
