This library is, in a word, extraordinary. It features an unconventional collection of tonal and atonal instruments created and developed by one truly unique individual. The main characters are his one-of-a-kind inventions, such as the mechophone, bottle organ, and omphalapompatronium, although the collection is also complemented by more well-known instruments.
“Leonard Solomon’s Extraordinary Machines” is particularly well-suited for creating light and whimsical compositions, solving specific sound design problems, and exploring unconventional ideas. We hope these fantastic creations will push your creativity in entirely new directions.
Handcrafted instruments, one-of-a-kind
Each instrument was handcrafted by Leonard Solomon himself and imbued with an incredible character you won’t hear anywhere else. All recordings were made in the same place where they were invented: Leonard Solomon’s workshop and home.
Four Unique “Extraordinary Instruments”
The star of the collection is Leonard Solomon’s beloved multi-instrument bellows whistle; other unique instruments include a bottle organ, omphalopompatronium, and callioforte.
A Variety of Sounds
In addition to the large instruments, this collection includes Leonard Solomon’s air cymbal, cuckoo, small horn, laughing horn, chanter whistle, a selection of original horns, and much more.
Realistic and Customizable Sounds
The mechanical noises and functional parts of the instruments have been meticulously recorded, including automatic bottle and bellows filling, pump mechanics, reset mechanisms, and more. Just like Leonard’s real instruments, you can customize the tuning and effects from subtle to extremely dissonant.
