Homestead Library The piano is a treasured family heirloom of Fracture Sounds founder Will Bedford. This vintage piano has accompanied Will on his journey into the world of music, and now, drawing on his many years of experience sampling some of the most sought-after pianos in the sample library market, he has created a completely unique and special addition to our range.
Designed as a fulcrum for composers and songwriters, this inspiring piano has been thoughtfully designed with an exciting selection of settings and custom atmospheric layers to control the sound to suit your preferences. Whether you’re composing a soulful ballad or a haunting soundtrack, this instrument offers subtle expressiveness that will bring intimacy and a warm, homey feel to your music.
Captured in the smallest detail :
The recording was made in a dry, secluded room, where every detail was carefully captured. An array of stereo pencil mics above the deck and a spaced pair at the performer’s seat provide exceptional realism and allow easy combination with other sample libraries using built-in reverb options or external plug-ins.
As with the softer Woodchester Piano , Homestead Piano takes every aspect into account, including the noise of the pedals, hammers and even the player’s movements, adding to the liveliness of the samples.
Atmospheric Layers Sound Design :
Homestead Piano features 9 new atmospheric layers created by the Fracture Sounds team . These layers process samples from the library or other sound sources, such as strings, to create sounds beyond what is possible in the real world. As you play, these layers shimmer stylistically in the background and can be controlled using the modulation wheel (CC1). You can mix, swap and customize them using the atmospheric layer sliders and menus.
Connect quickly or experiment
As with all of our libraries, you can quickly set up the sound you want or go deeper into tuning it. The Color EQ control allows you to adjust the brightness of the piano sound, making it stand out in rich compositions. The tone control shifts the starting pitch of the original samples, creating a softer, darker tone.
Like the Spotlight Piano and Moonlight Celeste , the Homestead Piano features detailed response controls that allow you to fully customize the piano’s sound using advanced velocity response graphs. For more control, we divide “dynamics” into “timbre” and “volume”. Voice scaling allows you to adjust the range and curve to trigger dynamic layers of samples, while volume scaling changes how the volume of a note affects the velocity.
