Description:
~4-Bit Synthesizer~
Junior is a 4-bit wavetable synthesizer based on the sound chip of our favorite
vintage handheld game console, bringing the raw tones of the original into the present.
Junior is not only the perfect playground for low-beat lovers,
but also a completely unique synthesizer with a unique sound palette,
which holds a special place in the hearts of many of us. Perhaps it will find a place in yours too. Features
- Not even 8
Based on the limitations and characteristics of the Nintendo Game Boy™ sound chip, Junior emits raw and harmonically rich 4-bit values that cut through everything. From 0 to 15, no more, no less. - Wave + Noise
The tone generator in Junior plays a customizable wave buffer of 32 4-bit values, which are transformed using various sound-shaping controls. Combined with a 7-bit LFSR noise generator, they create the perfect palette of low-end beats. - Table Trickery
Junior features four flexible modulators, inspired by modulation sequencers often used in trackers (LSDj, Defmon, M8, etc.), called Tables. The 16-step modulation table in Junior can be configured as an LFO, envelope, arpeggiator, MIDI input mapper, and much more. - Dreamland
While Junior emulates the sound of a Game Boy™, it’s not a strict emulation by design. It expands on the original’s capabilities with a modern set of features and controls, while remaining faithful to the original. The balance between precision and user experience is simply perfect. - All settings, everywhere
Junior supports continuous pitch bending (MPE), CLAP Note Expressions, and ODDSound MTS-ESP for all your pitch bending and tuning needs…
And yes, you can change the color theme.
