Melody is one of the purest and simplest forms of music and, at the same time, one of the most difficult tasks for composers of all time.

Since ancient times, melody has been one of the most direct forms of self-expression, as its boundaries blur to the level of language, sound, and, ultimately, magic. Gradually, the development of technology, from the wooden drum to the organ, has led humanity to a better understanding of the potential of melody as a form of communication, introspective and emotional exploration, and art.

As a core skill of the shaman, the mastery of melody has evolved from the work of refined composers in the service of the king to a powerful means of upholding ideals. By communicating with one another through dialogue and layering melodies, we have created an unrivaled and unique form of self-expression: melodies, or rather, music. In recent times, loop-based devices, from the Mellotron to the most famous samplers, have taken melodies to a new level of sophistication.

Melodies is a unique library that encourages experimentation and provides any musician with a new set of tools to create their compositions. Whether you are looking for a sketchbook to jot down your first draft or the most effective tool to deliver your song on time, let Melodies be your most reliable ally!

As told to me by a Berklee School of Music graduate, at the most basic level, we have two choices in creating melodies: scales and arpeggios. The latter are often thought of in a linear—ascending/descending—approach…… but it’s about playing the separate notes of the chord, not in such an ordered fashion.
