Description: “She’s Leaving Home” is a song written jointly by Paul McCartney and John Lennon, included in the album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, which was released in 1967. In this track, the Beatles did not play any instruments at all: they were played by invited musicians. The harp was played by Sheila Bromberg, the first female musician in the history of the Beatles. The following took part in the recording of the track:

Paul McCartney: lead vocals
John Lennon: backing vocals
Mike Leander: string arrangement
George Martin: production
Sheila Bromberg: harp

«Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” was the first album recorded by The Beatles after they finished their concert activity and concentrated on studio work (this happened in 1966). The group immediately had a huge amount of free time, which could be used to prepare a new album. Since The Beatles were the main source of income for EMI, they were given almost unlimited access to the capabilities of Abbey Road Studios. The album was recorded for about three months, and its creation required almost 700 hours of studio work. The total costs amounted to 25 thousand pounds sterling. All the compositions of “Sgt. Pepper’s…” were recorded at Abbey Road Studios using mono, stereo and four-track recording devices. The Beatles recorded individual instrumental parts on different tracks, and then these recordings were mixed onto one track. However, due to such multiple overlays of sound fragments, the problem of increased interference and extraneous noise arose, and “Sgt. Pepper’s…” became one of the first albums in the world to use the Dolby NR noise reduction system. The work was carried out with the participation of the band’s new sound engineer Jeff Imerick and The Beatles’ regular sound engineer George Martin.
