About the program :
Heart-stopping. Chart-topping.
The Riser is a completely new tool for creating epic musical transitions. A powerful synth instrument, The Riser offers all the tools you need to create breathtaking transitions in one intuitive user interface. In seconds, you can create fade-ins, fade-outs, intensities, attenuations, and more using our renowned sound synthesis technology. For instant inspiration, The Riser includes 300 professional presets that you can edit, disassemble, copy, modify, and use in your tracks.
Transitions add tension, excitement, drama, and dynamics to music. Slowing down and reversing instruments were used as transitions for years until digital audio workstations introduced fast and flexible audio editing, opening the way to complex sound effects. Combined with synthesizers and other audio processing tools, transitions have truly transformed from a science into an art. Until now, this process has been complex and labor-intensive, detracting from the project itself. The composer spent a great deal of time getting plugins, virtual sample players, hardware effects, sound modules, and other equipment to work seamlessly—and that’s before they even hit the record button.
“Three for All”
With the most powerful and musical virtual synthesis, The Riser can be used to create classic transitions or effects never heard before. At the core of The Riser are three smoothly adjustable oscillators: sweep, noise, and chord. Each oscillator has a dedicated filter and graphical display of its parameters.
Sweep—with adjustable volume, frequency, and oscillator shape—defines the direction and sequence of transitions. Create build-ups, decays, stops, and fade-outs with audio and visual feedback.
The Noise oscillator lets you adjust the volume, shape, and pitch, adding texture to your transition. Start shaping the effect to add sharpness, bite, hiss, impact, and more.
The Riser’s Chord Oscillator opens up a whole new world of creativity. Use it to tailor The Riser’s sonic structure to the key of your song (or a contrasting key) and customize it to your liking. It can be as musical as you want it to be.
Three low-frequency oscillators (LFOs) provide additional modulation to your transition. A tempo-synced LFO works in harmony with the tempo of the original track in your DAW, increasing the complexity of the transition. A second LFO operates independently, meaning it’s not tied to the original tempo. A third effect, the Pumper, modulates the synth using a dynamics control in conjunction with the track’s tempo. This pulsating effect adds expressiveness and dynamism to the transition. It includes varying timings and depth controls to adapt to your track or emphasize it.
For those who need ready-made transitions, our team of sound engineers has created 300 fully editable presets of various types that will make your project modern and convenient.
Riser’s extensive compatibility :
provides unrivaled flexibility when working with your current production/composition setup. It’s available for Mac and PC in AU, VST, and AAX formats and can be used as an instrument in virtually any digital audio workstation, including Logic Pro X, Cubase, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Sonar, Digital Performer, Reaper, and others. Using it in a digital audio workstation project doesn’t require special sample players or proprietary software—simply call it up when you need it and use it. Furthermore, you can map your favorite keyboard or controller to the virtual knobs and faders in your Riser or most DAWs, ensuring seamless operation that suits your composition style.
Get the Effect :
We’ve added essential transition effects to The Riser, giving you quick access to studio-grade audio tools. Tempo- and time-synced delays can make your transitions as light as a feather or as powerful as a sledgehammer. To add spaciousness to your patch, add one of four reverb types, each fully customizable to your track. To truly engage the listener, we’ve added pan and width controls that let you control stereo positioning and proximity. The Filter section offers over 20 filter types: low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, multi-pole/pass, notch, and phase-shift. When used in conjunction with The Riser’s LFOs and variable oscillators, you’ll achieve outstanding results with a signature style.
Experimentation is the key to inspiration, and The Riser offers several additional techniques for creating new sounds. The random number generator will randomly select values for the main parameters, allowing you to achieve the desired effect. Invert mode reverses
the direction of the transition, allowing you to hear it in reverse. Ascending sounds become descending, rising sounds become decaying, and so on. Click the “Swap” button, and these inversions will replace your current settings, allowing you to easily create additional patches and save them as presets.
Like you’ve never experienced before :
We understand the science behind the surprise and emotion that a successful transition evokes. Until now, recreating that transition in your head was a complex, manual process. The Riser puts intuitive audio tools right where you need them, allowing you to create breathtaking effects.
