DeNoise is a plugin designed to reduce noise such as hiss, wind noise, buzzing and camera noise. Noise can be reduced automatically in adaptive mode or after measuring the noise characteristics in noise profile mode. The new version 2 introduces dynamic noise profiles that take into account the dynamic properties of noise, allowing for effective reduction of time-varying noise, such as wind noise. The new algorithm has also been significantly improved and is now even less susceptible to typical noise reduction artifacts.
Version 2 introduces new dynamic noise profiles that help reduce noise that varies randomly over time, such as wind noise or the rustle of lavalier microphones. While previous versions simply recorded static noise with a constant noise level over time, dynamic noise profiles record statistical data about the noise that needs to be reduced. The noise reduction algorithm then estimates the best-fit noise threshold curve for the noisy input signal using the measured statistics.
DeHum eliminates hum and buzzing sounds that are usually caused by poor electrical grounding, as well as other sources of tonal noise such as motor noise. The hum detection algorithm has been improved in version 2, and there is now a new Scan button that automatically adjusts the main frequency of the hum.
Version 2 introduces support for Mid/Side (M/S) processing, which can reduce unwanted oscillations in the stereo image. A new auto-tune button initiates automatic hum frequency estimation.
DeClick is designed to remove impulse noise such as clicks, pops, and thumps. These distortions are common on 33 and 78 rpm records, but also occur in digital recordings due to dropouts or corrupted data packets. The thump reduction feature in DeClick 2 also works effectively on vocal recordings containing unwanted plosives. The algorithm has been improved in version 2 and is now less prone to reducing attacks and transients in the intended signal.
