A look into audio history
The golden era of audio saw the emergence of innovative designs, and one in particular, the British dynamics processor of the late 1960s, caught our attention.
This device, created according to the designs of famous manufacturers of the era, was famous for its unsurpassed versatility. Its unique feature, based on sophisticated transistor electronics, was an FET amplification mechanism controlled by three different circuits.
Every detail, from the color coding of controls to their layout, has been carefully thought out for intuitive use. Experience that power and sophistication with our new Complexx plugin.

I’m the last qualified to opine on any compressor; between wreckage in my ears’ frequency spectrum and one sole use for a compressor that I’m currently interested in, I wonder just how much room there is to make any compressor superior to another? At some point, “AI” might be able to tally the number of plug-in compressors on the market. I’m thinking several hundred 🙂
The one sole use for me is something distinctive in Jerry Garcia’s clean guitar leads…… the “snappy” attack and perfectly even response across all the strings are Jerry’s trademark sound.
I think it’s been said plenty of times that a guitarist will buy a compressor pedal and within 5-10 minutes it’ll be relegated to collecting dust…….. we expect really obvious results, like a distortion/fuzz/wah/delay pedal. As I’m a long, long time recovering addict, expecting instant obvious results is part o’ the curse 🙂 🙂 🙂
Bro your site is tight n’ right…….. the search engine alone is impressive.
There really is no “superior” compressor. Different compressors are better for certain things and have different temperaments, color, etc…For example: I use Diode-609 for drums, VCA for rhythm sections, Tube-STA on bass and vocals, and FET Compressors for everything. Basically, if it works for you, you’re obviously going to like it better than something that doesn’t. Experiment and so what works for you, and for what. I’m a guitarist and compressor has become one of my favorite effects pedals over recent years.
