Description:
BIG PUMP | A single-knob volume controller that analyzes music in real time. Increase the volume to make your sound heavier, denser, and more forward-facing, rather than flat.
WHAT’S NEW IN VERSION 1.1.0
Push & Pull Direction
A new direction toggle is located right next to the knob. “Push” mode applies a positive gain shift, raising the level during transients for a classic “pumping” effect. “Pull” mode applies a negative gain shift, lowering the level for a tighter, more controlled sound. The overall level remains consistent when switching between these modes.
Boost
Curve-only gain. With the same PUMP setting, the curve becomes more intense and saturated, providing more drive while keeping the depth of compression at the desired level.
Level-Matched Parallel Mixing
The MIX control now functions as true parallel mixing, where levels remain aligned regardless of the INPUT gain. This ensures that the “wet” and “dry” signals sound harmonious, no matter how hard you push the control. Smoother response
Enhanced ballistics for “Fat” mode, delta-monitoring that keeps levels balanced even at maximum INPUT gain, and smoother handling of rapid control adjustments for a more natural sound.
Features
One knob, total control. The PUMP knob governs the entire effect—from a subtle “glue” to maximum density. Even at lower settings, the 4D modulation system shapes the signal in sync with the music; the knob essentially controls the intensity of this effect.
4D Modulation Engine
The unit continuously analyzes four parameters of the incoming audio signal, allowing Big Pump to respond dynamically. Drums hit harder, vocals take center stage, and the effect adapts to the music.
Four Sound Modes
Fat — heavy, with a low-frequency drive. Smooth — slower, providing a “glued” sound. Tight — fast, with a focus on transient response. Open — airy, emphasizing mid and high frequencies. Each mode offers a distinct sonic character and response style.
Push & Pull Direction
Control the “pump” behavior. Selecting “Low” boosts the level during transients, while selecting “Hot” lowers the level, resulting in a tighter, more controlled sound. The overall level remains constant when switching, allowing for an accurate A/B comparison.
Boost
This intensifies the processing curve, resulting in a “hotter,” more saturated sound at the same PUMP setting. It raises the ceiling for added drive and density without altering the depth of the pumping effect.
Modern and Vintage Character
“Modern” provides clean harmonic saturation for a contemporary sound. “Vintage” introduces asymmetrical drive, delivering a smooth, tube-style harmonic character. An additional layer of saturation adds transformer-style coloration.
Width, Delta, and Oversampling
The “Width” control boosts side-channel frequencies more than the center, enhancing the stereo image. Delta Solos is precisely what Big Pump adds to the mix. Oversampling ranges from 2x to 16x, ensuring a clean high-end response even under heavy use. The Auto Gain feature allows for control over frequency response characteristics.
