Unlike standard equalizers that ignore mix context during processing, smart:EQ 4 makes multi-track unmasking and spectral mixing effortless—simply drag and drop up to 10 tracks. You can set priorities for each smart:filter, bringing some elements to the foreground, keeping others centered, and pushing others to the background. This innovative tool eliminates the need to switch between instances; any instance within a group can be controlled remotely from any other instance.

At the heart of smart:EQ 4 lies the smart:filter, which automatically balances the signal based on a target profile you select for your tracks. The smart:filter in each instance offers features that let you customize the AI-driven processing to your liking. Open the smart:filter widget to adjust the “Smoothing” parameter for gentler filtering, and enable the “Adaptation” option to smooth out highly dynamic signals. You can split the green smart:filter weighting curve and define a specific frequency range to control exactly where the intelligent algorithms operate.
The smart:EQ 4 smart:filter operates in three modes: “Track”—balances the channel itself; “Group”—does not affect the channel’s own balance but reduces masking between it and other group members; and “Track & Group”—applies balancing to the channel while also making it available for unmasking interactions. Profiles for instruments, vocals, and full mixes
With each new generation of smart:EQ, the library of available profiles has expanded. smart:EQ 4 offers profiles for instruments and vocals suitable for use on individual tracks or buses. To give your mix a final spectral polish, use one of the genre-specific profiles. If you are aiming for a specific sound, load a reference track to create a custom profile; smart:EQ 4 will then replicate its spectral character and balance on your channel or bus. smart:EQ 4 is a versatile equalizer that includes every feature expected of a professional-grade tool. In addition to the smart:filter, smart:EQ 4’s standard EQ bands offer dynamic behavior and feature a dynamic filter widget with familiar controls reminiscent of a compressor. These standard EQ bands can be used alongside or instead of the core smart:filter bands in any instance of smart:EQ 4. It also includes auto-gain for level compensation, comprehensive Mid/Side processing, and an analyzer that displays not only the current track but also all other tracks within the same group.
