Description:
Memorymode 2 is a virtual instrument inspired by one of the most iconic programmable polyphonic analog synthesizers of the 1980s—the legendary Memorymoog. This is not merely an update to the base version. Cherry Audio has completely redesigned its acclaimed 2021 flagship synthesizer, employing advanced analysis and emulation techniques to achieve unmatched precision and accuracy. Furthermore, we have significantly expanded its capabilities, making Memorymode 2 a true successor to both the original synthesizer and our own groundbreaking version.

Overview:
The 1982 Memorymoog set a new standard for sound quality with its rich analog timbres. It featured six-voice polyphony and is often described as “six Minimoogs in one,” as it is equipped with 18 voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs) and a Moog ladder filter with a 24 dB/octave slope. Cherry Audio’s Memorymode—modeled after a vintage Memorymoog once owned by jazz legend Chick Corea—refines the original design without compromising sound or functionality, while eliminating the reliability, maintenance, and tuning issues that often plagued the hardware version.
The list of other notable artists known for using the Memorymoog is impressive in its own right, including: 808 State, Air, Art of Noise, David Bryan (Bon Jovi), The Cars, The Crystal Method, Geoff Downes (Asia / Yes), George Duke, Larry Fast, Jim Gilmour (SAGA), Jerry Goldsmith, Jan Hammer, Herbie Hancock, INXS, Jean-Michel Jarre, James “Jimmy Jam” Harris III, Jon Lord (Deep Purple / Whitesnake), Moog Cookbook, The Orb, Nick Rhodes (Duran Duran), Klaus Schulze, Space Art, and Tangerine Dream. The Memorymoog was the last major synthesizer released by Moog Music in the 1980s, a lineup that also included the updated Memorymoog Plus, released in 1985.
