This library of early pianofortes offers the unique sound of Johann Stein’s historic pianoforte, built in 1793 in Augsburg. Clearly influenced by the harpsichords of the time, the instrument has an unusual pianoforte sound with its characteristic courtly elegance. Incidentally, Stein’s instruments were Mozart’s favorite pianofortes.
Recorded in the original tuning of 417 Hz. 32 velocity layers for each note.
